One of the absolute must-do adventures in Belize is the journey into the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave — a thrilling mix of history, nature, and adrenaline-pumping exploration.

When I first arrived in Belize, I had heard whispers of its legendary ATM Cave — an otherworldly mix of adventure, history, and raw nature. It took me a few years to finally undertake the adventure, but boy, was I glad I did. Cameras were once allowed inside, but after a few unfortunate incidents where they were dropped on fragile artifacts, Belize implemented a strict no-camera policy. The site is incredibly delicate, and the country is determined to preserve its historical significance. It won’t take many more incidents before access is restricted even further, so if you’ve been thinking about experiencing this adventure, don’t wait too long. With no cameras allowed, I had to experience it fully and commit every detail to memory.
