One of the extra bonuses about traveling to Belize is having the opportunity to taste tropical exotic fruits! Several fruits like Bananas, watermelon and pineapples and mangos have a longer shelf life and can easily be transported to the USA, hence they are readily available at your local markets. However there are many other exotic fruits that don’t, and can only be enjoyed while in the tropics. So don’t shy away from trying something new. Here in Ambergris Caye you’ll find many different fruit and veggie stands all around town. However if you want a good experience on how many locals get their fruits and veggies you'll need to try the local farmer’s market every Tuesday morning on the lagoon side of the island.
